Discussions on the country’s shift to federalism have quiet down because Congress was waiting for the draft charter from the Consultative Committee (Con-com) task to review the 1987 constitution, Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III said on Thursday.

Pimentel said that when he was still the Senate president, he and Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez have agreed to wait for the Con-Com to present its findings.

“We agreed na we will step on the brakes and await the July expected announcement of the product of the Consultative Commission in July 2018,” Pimentel told reporters.
