DID YOU KNOW: 46th death anniversary of Ramon Valera

Today, May 25, is the 46th death anniversary of National Artist for Fashion Design Ramon Valera.

He was given the honor posthumously in 2006 for helping mold generations of artists and develop the Filipinos’ sense of aesthetics in fashion.

Valera was also recognized for giving the Philippine terno a contemporary look by crafting the baro’t saya into a single dress.  —Hezron Pios
