Thunderstorms in Metro Manila, nearby provinces

The state weather bureau issued a thunderstorm advisory in Metro Manila and nearby provinces in Luzon on Tuesday afternoon.

Heavy to intense rains are affecting Metro Manila (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas), Cavite, Batangas, Laguna and Zambales, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in an advisory at 2:08 p.m.

The rains may persist in the next two hours.

The same weather conditions are expected over Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Rizal and Quezon in the next two hours.

The easterlies continue to be the dominant weather system throughout the country. /muf
