The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday announced it was mulling a possible extension of voting hours in polling precincts that opened late for the 2018 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls.

In a press briefing, acting Comelec chair Al Parreño said the commission en banc would discuss whether or not it would “act accordingly and quickly” on cases that may require extended voting hours for precincts that opened late.

“On that question, we will deal with that on a case-to-case basis,” Parreño told reporters when asked whether or not polling precincts that opened late would be allowed to extend voting hours.
