Gatchalian seeks ‘merciless justice’ for killers of ex-solon

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on Monday slammed the killing of former La Union Rep. Eufranio “Franny” Eriguel, who was shot dead in Agoo, La Union, over the weekend.
The senator described his former colleague as “a well-natured man and an able public servant.”

Gatchalian said Eriguel was his colleague in the 16th Congress and a former party mate at the Nationalist People’s Coalition.

“I hope that speedy and merciless justice will be served on his killers,” he said in a statement.
Two of Eriguel’s bodyguards were also killed in the incident.
The former lawmaker was killed two days before barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on May 14, 2018. /cbb
