La Union PDRRMO chief found dead in his office

SAN FERNANDO, La Union — The head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) was found dead from a gunshot wound on Sunday morning inside his office here, according to Supt. John Guiagui, San Fernando City police chief.

Lawyer Bobby Valdriz reported for work at about 6 a.m. and was found dead with a bullet wound in the head an hour later, Guiagui said.

Members of his staff who were on duty Sunday said Valdriz did not respond when they greeted him.

An hour later, a shot rang, which was also heard by Mass-goers at the Catholic Church near his office.

A caliber .38 handgun was found inside Valdriz’s office. /cbb
