ZAMBOANGA CITY – Another member of the city police’s Drug Enforcement Team was shot and killed here on Thursday evening.

Senior Superintendent Allan Nazarro, the city director, said 33-year-old Police Officer 1 Rosalyn Bernardo Macapili, a member of the DET assigned at Police Station 7, was shot to death outside her house on Star Apple Drive in Barangay Baliwasan around 11 p.m. Thursday.

Macapili’s housemate, identified as Lineth Tuballa, was critically wounded.

Initial investigation showed that Macapili, the fourth DET member to have been killed here since October last year, went out to the street with Tuballa when unidentified persons pelted their house with stones.

A few minutes later, neighbors heard several gunshots and later discovered the duo slumped on the ground.

Nazarro said Macapili and Tuballa were rushed to a hospital. The former died while Tuballa remained under treatment.

“The motive is still unknown, and the Police Station 11 is still conducting deeper investigation as to the identity and possible arrest of the suspect or suspects,” he said.

On March 12, Police Officer 2 Lidia Halid, also a DET member, was killed by riding-in-tandem suspects in Barangay San Roque.

On January 8, Police Officer 3 Michael Tan was shot and killed.

On October 5, unidentified riding in tandem gunned down Senior Police Officer 3 Ronnie Alar Adanza.
