If he would have it his way, newly installed Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, said he would like to run for senator in next year’s elections.

Dela Rosa revealed this on Wednesday when asked, in an interview over ABS-CBN News Channel, to choose between running for senator or governor of Dave del Sur.

“Senado, kung ako ang masusunod ha,” the former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief said. “But then again, I must say it clear na hindi ako pwedeng susuway sa kagustuhan ni Presidente.”

“Kung ano ang gusto n’ya, he’s the one who made me, malaki ang utang na loob ko sa kanya. Kung ano sabihin n’ya dun ka, tulungan mo ‘yung probinsya mo sa Davao Sur, doon ako,” Dela Rosa  added.

If President Rodrigo Duterte would also ask him not to join politics, Dela Rosa said he would willingly heed his boss’ advice.
