Cousin sought for rape-murder of 3-year-old girl
KIDAPAWAN CITY – Police authorities here on Monday said they were continuing the manhunt against a man in connection to the rape-slay of a three year old girl here on Saturday.
Supt. Ramil Hojilla, the city police chief, identified the suspect as a Rene Bueno of Barangay Singao.
Bueno, who remained missing as of Monday, was believed to be behind the rape and killing of the girl, who was his cousin.
The girl’s body was found 10 meters from their house in Purok Lanzones in Barangay Singao early Sunday.
Grace, the victim’s mother, narrated that on Saturday evening, her daughter, a son, and Bueno were left inside their house. She said they left for the celebration of the village fiesta.
Upon returning home, they found Rene and Ellah not in the house. They looked for the cousins but did not find them.
Hours later, the girl’s body was found. She had apparently been raped.
Hojilla said Bueno had no prior police record. /cbb
