More ‘jueteng’ bettors playing STL, says PCSO
CABANATUAN CITY — More “jueteng” operators and bettors are switching to the state-run Small Town Lottery (STL), according to Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Alexander Balutan.
He said 81 jueteng operators and financiers were now patronizing STL after the PCSO and police launched provincial campaigns for bet collectors to play the lottery.
“When I started with PCSO in September 2016, 18 illegal gambling operators joined STL operations. Now there are 81 of them and nine more are waiting for their papers to be approved as authorized STL operators,” he said.
PCSO earns P2 million a month from STL operations in Nueva Ecija, he said. —Anselmo Roque
