3 killed in Pangasinan road accidents
Mark Gilbert Dela Cruz, 21, and his 20-year-old girlfriend, Rica Garcia, 20, were run over by a pick-up truck around 3:35 p.m. Sunday along a highway at Barangay (village) Magtaking in Bugallon town.
Police said the couple was westbound when they were thrown off their motorcycle and landed on the middle of the road. As the two were about to get up, the speeding truck struck them. The couple was taken to a hospital but a doctor declared both of them dead on arrival.
The PUV driver, Antonio Torres, 54, is now under police custody.
In Villasis town, Jolito Macalampad, 24, died on the way to a hospital after a passenger bus hit him while he crossed the Manila North Road in Barangay Bacag at 8:50 p.m. also Sunday.
Bus driver Melvin Sindayen, 39, is now under police custody. His bus was impounded at the local police station. /kga
