Coast Guard rescues 14 people from sunken boat in Palawan

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Monday rescued 14 people after the motor banca they were riding on sank off Hidden Beach in El Nido, Palawan.
In a statement, the PCG said a search-and-rescue team from Coast Guard Station El Nido was dispatched to the area on Sunday, April 8, and rescued 10 passengers and four crew members who were stranded on the beach.
All of the passengers on board the motor banca were all safe and accounted for.
The boat, “Tame Boy,” was already submerged when the rescue team arrived.
On interrogation, the boat’s captain said that his crew dropped anchor due to rough seas.
“The anchor line was cut that made the boat to drift near the rocky shore and eventually went submerged,” the PCG said. “Its passengers and crews managed to swim to the shore and stranded thereat until the [search-and-rescue] team arrived.” /atm
