Businessman ‘abducted’ in Laguna carwash

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna-Police are investigating the alleged abduction of a businessman, who was reportedly taken from a carwash shop in Bay town in Laguna province.

The victim was identified as Edgar Laugo, from Talavera, Nueva Ecija, a known businessman engaged in scrap metal in Batangas provinces, sources said.

Laugo was in Bay where his live-in partner owns a house, when he was taken by unknown men on board two Toyota Innova cars and a van in Barangay (village) Dila between 8:30 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, police said.

He said a relative, who happened to be in the same car shop, witnessed the abduction and later reported it to the authorities.

Witnesses were able to take note of the vehicles’ plate number but they turned out to be fake after the police checked them out.

Sabeniano said they have yet to hear from Laugo’s supposed abductors or get any demand for ransom.
