Fire out in Festival Mall

MANILA, Philippines – Firefighters have put out the fire which razed a portion of the Festival Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City Monday, said Senior Fire Officer 1 John de Guzman of the city’s fire department.

The fire reached first alarm before it was put out at around 11:45 a.m. and did not reach second alarm, as earlier reported.

He said that the fire was reported to authorities at around 11:05 a.m.

De Guzman said that the fire started at a Bench store at the second level of the shopping center but added that they have yet to determine what caused it.

He said that no information has reached their department if anyone was injured during the fire.

Six firetrucks responded to the area, added De Guzman.
