Bato says son Rock facing deficiencies at PNPA
No pressure.
This was the message of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa to his son, Rock, as he faced deficiencies on his subjects at the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).
Dela Rosa said he had spoken with his son at the sidelines of the PNPA graduation rites on Wednesday, where Rock admitted he fell short in two of his subjects, including communication.
Rock is currently on his first year at the PNPA.
He said he had told Rock that it would be embarrassing for a degree holder like him if he flunks the subjects.
“We understand the situation, academics is different from civilian universities, pressure is different from police academy so I understand perfectly his situation. What I can do is just to give him the advice to review so he passes,” he said in a press briefing.

The chief, however, assured his son that whatever happens to him at the Academy, he would always welcome him back with open arms.
“You are my son, ano mangyari sa buhay mo anak kita, tatanggapin kita pagbalik mo kung hindi mo kaya,” Dela Rosa said.
