Number coding for city and provincial buses lifted on March 28, April 2
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday announced that it has lifted the number coding scheme for city and provincial buses only on March 28 (Holy Wednesday) and April 2 (Monday).
The advisory was issued in observance of Holy Week, which would start on March 25 (Palm Sunday) and end on April 1 (Easter Sunday).
The lifting of the number coding scheme was intended to supply additional buses needed to transport passengers going to provinces during the week.
Number coding, also known as the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program, aimed to reduce traffic congestion during peak hours in the metro.
