The police are looking for a man who was caught on video killing his neighbor’s dog in Muntinlupa City.

Redge Espenilla, the owner of the dog, Seven, sued Michael Bobby Potot Jr. in the city prosecutor’s office for violating Republic Act 8545 or the Animal Welfare Act.

Espenilla caught Potot on video as he was beating the dog to death with a piece of wood in their compound at Barangay Alabang on Saturday.

“I could not do anything because I was pregnant and he could also hurt me and my baby,” she said.

But Potot’s live-in partner, Annabelle Maranan, defended him, saying the dog almost bit their child on Friday night.

Espenilla, however, claimed that Seven always barked at Potot “because he always provoked her.” She added that she was afraid for herself and her family because Potot also threatened them before he went into hiding.
