Welcome fit for a queen awaits Quezon beauty

LUCENA CITY — The town of Candelaria in Quezon province is preparing the red carpet for local lass, Ma. Ahtisa Manalo, who bagged the Binibining Pilipinas International 2018 title.
“We will welcome her with all the pomp and gaiety fit for a queen,” Mayor Macario Boongaling said.
While Manalo’s homecoming has yet to be scheduled, local officials and private sector representatives have started preparations for a motorcade around town and for other activities.
The town council has also adopted a resolution hailing Manalo’s achievement, Boongaling said.
Quezon Gov. David Suarez said the province was proud of Manalo’s feat.
In 2016, Manalo was chosen as muse of the province’s Niyogyugan Festival.
On her Facebook page, Manalo offered her victory to her provincemates.
She promised to do “whatever it takes” to bring home the Miss International crown. —Delfin T. Mallari Jr.
