Aguirre says Napoles now ready ‘to tell all’
Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II on Tuesday said alleged pork barrel mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles was now ready “to tell all” her knowledge about the P10-billion Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam.
Aguirre issued the statement after he was asked what prompted the Department of Justice (DOJ) to place Napoles under provisional coverage of the government’s Witness Protection Program (WPP).
“Janet Napoles, through her relatives and through her lawyer approached the Department of Justice saying that Janet Napoles is now ready to tell all, to tell everything what she knows about the PDAF scam,” Aguirre said in a Palace briefing.
“Janet Napoles is now ready to tell all what he knows about the PDAF scam,” Aguirre said in a Palace briefing.
Aguirre earlier said Napoles has executed an affidavit which provided more details on the misuse of the pork barrel funds.
“And initially, she said she’s going to execute an affidavit and other affidavits later. So we accepted it and she requested that she be put under the provisional coverage of the WPP. We agreed to it,” he said.
Aguirre denied the speculations that the government has forged a compromised deal with Napoles for placing her under provisional WPP.
“Well, mali lahat ‘yan. Actually sila ang lumapit and I believe that justice will be done if Janet Napoles will be allowed to speak and tell the whole truth about this,” he said.
