Aguirre threatens to file libel case vs Hontiveros

Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II is poised to file a complaint of libel against Senator Risa Hontiveros for calling him a “manufacturer of fake news” and “cook of fake cases.”

“You could see libel cases filed against her,” Aguirre said in a text message.
Hontiveros reiterated her call for Aguirre’s resignation following the dismissal of the drug case against businessman Peter Lim.
The senator first called on the Justice secretary’s resignation last year after exposing an alleged plot to file cases against her.

“Hindi na kelangan pag-aralan (filing of a complaint for libel). Very clear na defamatory. I saw and heard what she said,” Aguirre said adding that the complaint will be filed “very soon,” Aguire said.
