Isabela village chief in critical condition after being shot in face

RAMON, Isabela — A village chief is in critical condition after being shot in the face by one of two motorcycle-riding men at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday (March 17) in Barangay Bugallon Proper here.

Norlito Lebii, barangay chaiarman of Bantug village, was standing in front of his parked Elf truck at a gasoline station when he was attacked, said Supt. Ronald Laggui, Isabela police spokesperson.

He was brought to the Santiago City Hospital.

Police have alerted checkpoints at major roads in the town to be on the lookout for the assailants.

Investigators have yet to establish the motive for the shooting. /atm
