Lawyer Larry Gadon filed graft charges on Monday against five Supreme Court (SC) officials mentioned in the impeachment proceedings against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

According to Gadon, among those charged before the Department of Justice were members of the SC Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) and the Technical Working Group (TWG).

In an 8-page complaint, Gadon claimed that Ma. Lourdes Oliveros, Michael Ocampo, and Helen Perez-Macasaet of the BAC were involved in the IT procurement services controversy that allegedly did not undergo the bidding process.

“Aking inihahain ang complaint na ito sapagkat binayaran ng napakalaking halaga si Helen Perez-Macasaet na hindi dumaan sa bidding. Ito ay ni-renew pa six times na hindi rin dumaan sa bidding,” Gadon said in an interview after he filed the complaint.

“Kaya ito ay isang malinaw na graft and corruption case,” he added.

Gadon, however, did not fully specify the involvement of Oliveros and Ocampo on the issue.

In a separate complaint, Gadon filed raps against Anna-Li Papa-Gombio and Jocelyn Fabian of the TWG regarding the delay on the approval and release of the survivorship benefits.

Gadon said before Gombio and Fabian handled the cases on survivorship benefits, the approval of papers took only about two weeks.

However, during their time, it took them two years to process the documents but would later on lead to disapproval.

“Inabot ng dalawang taon bago nila ginawan ng study. Dati, nung hindi pa sila involved dito at ito ay nasa Court of Administrator pa lang, ay umaabot lamang ng dalawang linggo at aprubado na,” Gadon said.

“Doon sa kanila, nag abot ito ng dalawang taon, inikot ikot nila, at yun pala ay idi-disapprove nila,” he added.

Gadon, who initiated the impeachment complaint against Sereno, earlier warned that he would file graft charges against some of the staff members of the Chief Justice if she did not resign. /cbb
