The ridge of a high-pressure area will continue to prevail over Northern Luzon while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country, the state weather bureau said on Monday.

In its 4 a.m. weather advisory, the the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said temperatures could reach up to 35 degrees Celsius across the country.

Metro Manila is expected to experience 34 degree Celsius temperature at some point until 4 a.m. of Tuesday.

Pagasa said light to moderate winds would blow from the east to southeast over Northern and Central Luzon, where coastal waters would also be light to moderate.

The rest of the country will have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said. /cbb
