Man killed by drinking buddy inside Lucena bar

LUCENA CITY – A 52-year-old man was stabbed dead by his drinking buddy inside a videkoe bar before midnight Sunday, a police report said.

Lucena police identified the victim as Bernardo Litana, a resident of this city. He was repeatedly stabbed by a man only known as “Junior” around 11 p.m. inside Liblib KTV bar in Barangay (village) Bocohan.

Quoting witnesses, police said that the victim and the suspect, who had been drinking, engaged in a short argument outside the bar. After settling the dispute, the duo returned inside and continued their revelry.

But during the resumption of the drinking session, the suspect suddenly drew a knife and repeatedly stabbed Litana in different parts of the body. The victim instantly died and the suspect managed to escape.

Police are currently conducting further investigation to identify and arrest the suspect.   /kga
