DAVAO CITY – A 22-year old man was arrested while transporting marijuana from Cotabato City to this city, a military official said Sunday.

Lt. Col. Randolph Cabangbang, deputy commander of the Task Force Davao, said Harrier Virtudazo, of Barangay Rosary Heights in Cotabato City, was arrested on Saturday at a checkpoint in Toril district here.

Cabangbang said Virtudazo was found carrying at least 10 bundles of dried marijuana.

“The suspect was turned over to SPO3 Leo Romero of the PNP Toril for proper disposition,” the official said.

Charges for violation of the anti-drugs law are being prepared against the suspect.

Cabangbang said the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency estimated the marijuana weighed about one kilo, which had a street value of P40,000. /cbb
