/ 05:04 AM February 05, 2018

An Uber driver was arrested by police officers on Sunday after he got into a confrontation with the boyfriend of a female passenger who had accused him of harassment.

The report of Supt. Christian dela Cruz, Kamuning police station chief, said the incident happened while Troy Silva, 46, and his passenger who was not identified were traveling on Timog Avenue, Quezon City, at 12:57 a.m. on Sunday.

The complainant had fallen asleep in the passenger seat when she woke up to find Silva’s breath “fanning her face and his face an inch and a half away,” the report added.

The passenger then texted her boyfriend who was waiting for her at her destination in Batasan, Quezon City.

Upon their arrival, the complainant’s boyfriend confronted Silva who asked for help from patrolling police officers, PO1 John Bernas and PO1 Mark Castillo.

Silva told the officers he had been “harassed and [injured]” by the passenger’s boyfriend, according to the police report.

After an investigation, however, the police decided to charge Silva with “unjust vexation” under Article 287 of the Revised Penal Code.
