About 200 passengers were offloaded from a Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) train early Sunday due to an electrical failure.

In an advisory, the MRT-3 management said a southbound train unloaded passengers at the North Avenue station at 6:14 a.m.

The glitch was due to an “electrical failure in the train’s motor.”

The management said passengers were loaded in the next train which arrived six minutes later.

They said one cause of electrical failure was “worn out electrical sub-components,” which could be solved through “preventive maintenance and replacement of electrical components” and “ensuring availability of spare parts.” /cbb
