According to Erfe, both children hadshown symptoms of severe dengue – including fever, headache, stomach ache, vomiting. Both had been inoculated with Dengvaxia last year.

In a phone interview with INQUIRER.net, Erfe said examination showed that both child had normal-sized organs, but both suffered from internal bleeding from the brain.

Jayme also suffered bleeding in the stomach, intestines, lungs, and liver. Even his scalp had traces of blood.

The PAO forensic team have already examined a total of five bodies of children that received Dengvaxia vaccine.

Erfe said more bodies would be examined.

“The parents want to examine what caused their children’s death,” Erfe said. “Alam nila malusog. Pagkatapos biglang lalagnatin and then tuluy-tuloy na. Kaya lumapit sila sa atin.”
