Quake hits Davao Occidental

A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

According to a Phivolcs bulletin, the earthquake of tectonic origin hit an undersea area 120 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 7:34 a.m.

The agency reported that the depth of the quake reached 15 kilometers.

There was no expected damage or aftershocks, Phivolcs said. /cbb
