No firecracker injury reported in Southern Mindanao on Christmas

DAVAO CITY – Southern Mindanao region registered zero injury from firecrackers or stray bullets during the Christmas celebration.

Regional police spokesperson Chief Insp. Andrea dela Cerna credited the police’s campaign, Ligtas Kapaskuhan 2017, under which up to 3,258 security personnel including police and force multipliers had been deployed, as well as the existing firecracker ban in the provinces to be behind the zero injury feat.

She said authorities would continue to monitor and run after violators to maintain the same feat during the New Year’s revelry. /je
