PCG: 3 missing, 1 casualty still unidentified in Mercraft 3 tragedy

Three people were still missing while one casualty was still unidentified after an inter-island fastcraft, MV Mercraft 3, capsized between Dinahican Point, Quezon and Polilio Island last Thursday.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) identified the missing as Jake Noel Mendiola, Zandy Tapar and Odelun Azul, all males.

The PCG reported five fatalities but as of this posting, only four were identified: Francisco Asuela, Rufo Combalicer, Purificasion Sultura and Idelfonso Azores.

From the 248 survivors of the ill-fated vessel, 11 were reported injured, the PCG said in its report.

The injured survivors and the fatalities were brought to Claro M. Recto Hospital in Infanta, Quezon for medical treatment and proper disposition, the report stated. /je
