CA okays appointment of AFP chief, 40 officers

The Commission on Appointments (CA) unanimously confirmed on Wednesday the ad interim appointment of Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Gen. Rey Leonardo Guerrero 11 days before he retires.

No member of the CA objected when the CA’s committee on national defense moved to confirm Guerrero’s appointment.

The chief of staff will reach the mandatory retirement age of 56 on December 17, 2017.

Aside from Guerrero, the Commission also confirmed the ad interim appointments of 40 other military officers. /cbb
