A man was shot dead by still-unidentified assailants while on his way home with his P9,000 winnings from a cockfight in Pasay City on Wednesday afternoon.

Jayvee Berlos, along with a companion, was in a tricycle around 3:15 p.m. when two men on a motorbike tailed and approached them as they reached Cementina Public Cemetery.

The motorbike’s backrider fired at Berlos several times, killing him on the spot, before fleeing with his accomplice toward Bangkal, Makati City.

The assailants left without taking any cash or valuable item from the victim, who had just won P9,000 in cockfights, according to SPO3 Ricardo Mallong, the investigator on the case.
