Romblon execs join admin party PDP-Laban

Majority of elected officials in Romblon province jumped ship to the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), the latest group of local leaders to join the administration party. Led by Rep. Emmanuel Madrona, about 4,000 officials took their oath on Thursday before Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez. Among the officials who joined the PDP-Laban was Vice Gov. Jose Riano. Gov. Eduardo Firmalo and his daughter, Odiongan Mayor Trina Fabic, however, stayed with the Liberal Party. Madrona said they were supporting the government campaign against illegal drugs. The oath-taking came after the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency declared Romblon “drug free.” —MARICAR CINCO
