La Union Surfing Break

An annual surfing and music festival in the coastal town of San Juan in La Union province. Launched in 2006, the event aims to educate and expose Filipinos to surfing and to promote La Union as a premier surfing destination in Luzon. Events include the live performances of Brownman Revival, Rocksteddy and Quest.

Ansakket Festival

The town of Aguilar in Pangasinan province celebrates the more than 100 ways of cooking “ansakket” or glutinous rice to help farmers improve their living condition. Glutinous rice has been Aguilar’s One Town One Product, the government’s program to enable communities to develop and support products or services that they are known for.

Semana ti Ar-Aria

The Halloween celebration, which also means “ghost week,” in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte province. The event highlights the province’s customs and traditions in remembering the dead. Activities include a film festival, horror film showing, parties and a Halloween costume parade.
