Woman with goiter needs P20,000 for operation

Although Veronica Guinto has been religiously taking the medicine prescribed for her goiter, she has not gotten any relief from the pain caused by her condition.
When she complained to her doctors at Philippine General Hospital that she found it difficult and painful to swallow her food, they advised her to undergo an operation.
Guinto, however, cannot afford to have surgery as she does not even hold a job.
A bachelorette at the age of 41, she depends on the kindness of her relatives who are also taking care of her.
“I hope you can help me raise P20,000 for my operation,” she said in Filipino in a letter she sent to the Inquirer.
Guinto, a native of Batangas, lives with her aunt in San Andres Bukid, Manila.
