Did You Know: 56th death anniversary of Sergio Osmeña Sr.

Today, Oct. 19, is the 56th death anniversary of President Sergio Osmeña Sr.

Born on Sept. 9, 1878, he finished law at UST and placed 2nd in the 1903 bar exam.

He served as House member and senator before being elected vice president in 1935.

He assumed the presidency after Manuel L. Quezon died on Aug. 1, 1944. —Marielle Medina
