2 killed in Zambo shooting

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two persons, including a village chief, were killed while two others were wounded when unidentified armed men sprayed bullets at an unfinished building in Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte on Monday afternoon.

Western Mindanao Chief Sr. Supt. Billy Beltran identified the fatalities as Philip Dagurayan Malon, chairman of Barangay Mucas in Salug town, and Edgar Vincent Lagare, also of Salug.

Meanwhile, those wounded were identified as Ava Lagare and Earl Acas.


Police said Malon, the two Lagares, and Acas were visiting the still unfinished commercial building owned by town councilor Marjohn Bihag and was to meet with a certain Marichu Acas when motorcycle-riding men arrived and fired at them.

Witnesses said Malon tried to run away but the suspects chased him and shot him several times.  /kga
