Two killed in Cabanatuan City drug bust

CABANATUAN CITY- Two suspected drug peddlers were killed in a police operation on Sunday night.

Alfredo Martinez Jr., 32, and Nepomuceno Esguerra, 53, died from gunshot wounds when one of them fired at the policemen after sensing they were transacting with undercover officers at Briones Subdivision in Barangay (village) San Isidro here at 7:15 p.m., said Supt. Ponciano Zafra, city police chief.

Investigators recovered a pistol and five sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride).


Martinez had a pending arrest warrant for car theft at the Cabanatuan City Regional Trial Court, Zafra said.
