DAGUPAN CITY — A 2-year-old girl was killed while her grandparents were injured when their tricycle struck a carabao on Tuesday night at Bani town in Pangasinan province.

Sophia Pamo died as she was being taken to the San Juan Medical Clinic in Bani town.

Pamo was travelling with her grandmother, Marina Catabay, 61, in a tricycle driven by her grandfather, Cresencio Catabay, 57, through Barangay (village) Banog Norte, when the vehicle struck the animal at the road’s shoulder at 8 p.m.

The crash tipped the tricycle over, pinning Pamo and her grandmother.

Police said the tricycle did not have a head light and Cresencio was navigating through the dark by using a flashlight. /je
