Duterte names DAR officer in charge

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Rosalina Bistoyong as the officer in charge of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Malacañang said Monday.

Bistoyong’s appointment came after the rejection of the ad interim appointment of Rafael “Ka Paeng” Mariano.

Bistoyong is an undersecretary for the support services office of DAR.

The Commission on Appointments (CA) rejected on September 5 the appointment of Mariano, the remaining leftist leader in the Duterte Cabinet.

Mariano is the 4th Cabinet member under Duterte to be rejected by the CA. The ad interim appointments of Perfecto Yasay, Gina Lopez, and Judy Taguiwalo were earlier rejected by the commission.
