Road repairs to slow down long weekend traffic

Motorists should prepare for heavier traffic this long weekend as the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) will conduct road repairs in different parts of the capital, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced Friday.

The DPWH will conduct road reblocking and repairs starting 11 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, the MMDA said in a traffic advisory.

The MMDA advised motorists to avoid the following affected areas and use alternate routes instead:

Northbound

  • MacArthur Highway near Monumento Circle, Caloocan City
  • P. Garcia Avenue near E. Jacinto Street and between Velasquez and alley, Quezon City
  • Luna Road from East Avenue to Kalayaan Avenue, Quezon City
  • Manila East Road in front of SM East Ortigas, Pasig City
  • Quirino Highway corner La Mesa Dam Road, Quezon City

Southbound

  • Bonifacio Avenue between Mauban Street to Dome Street, Quezon City (second lane)
  • C-5 Road near Julia Vargas, Pasig City
  • Rodriguez Jr. Avenue before Green Meadows, Quezon City (truck lane)
  • Rodriguez Jr. Avenue after Boni Serrano Flyover, Quezon City (truck lane) IDL
