Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on Wednesday night said he was already sent home from the hospital to recover after experiencing a dizzy spell following a series of hearings at the Senate earlier.

“I have been discharged from the hospital and I am now recovering at home with my family,” Gatchalian said in a statement. He also assured the public and his supporters that there was nothing to worry about his health.

“I just need some time to rest and recharge. But I am looking forward to returning to work at the Senate very soon,” he said.

The 43-year-old senator was rushed to Makati Medical City on Wednesday afternoon after feeling dizzy and weak. His staff said he may just be exhausted.

Gatchalian, who chairs the Senate committee on energy, attended the deliberation on the Department of Energy’s budget Wednesday morning.
