/ 05:02 AM July 18, 2017

A barangay chair in Teresa, Rizal, was killed by motorcycle riders in front of the barangay hall on Monday morning.

Senior Insp. Renato Torres, Teresa police chief, said that Barangay San Gabriel chair Arvin Zapanta was standing near the daycare center when he was gunned down at 6:55 a.m.

The gunmen were both wearing motorcycle helmets.

Torres said Zapanta was not on the police drug watch list, adding that they were examining his cell phone to look for clues.

They were also planning to talk to his family to determine if he had received death threats. —Jodee A. Agoncillo
