DID YOU KNOW: PH first hosting of Miss Universe

In July 1974, the Philippines hosted for the first time the Miss Universe beauty pageant. It was held at Folk Arts Theater in Pasay City and gathered 65 contestants from across the globe. The title was won that year by Amparo Muñoz of Spain. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
