CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The police on Thursday charged a man for frustrated murder and frustrated parricide after he set his romantic partner and two young children on fire as they slept at home in Sta. Rita town in Pampanga province on Wednesday.

Allegedly angered by a Facebook comment posted by Jennylyn Ramos, Ferdinand Igmat poured six liters of gasoline on Ramos and their 12-month old and 3-month old children. Then Igmat lit the gasoline, reportedly due to Ramos’ post that he was “not physically attractive,” police said.

Ramos woke up and carried the toddler and the infant out of the house, where they were doused with water by responding neighbors.

The woman and the children suffered severe burns. They were first brought to a hospital in Porac town but were later transferred to the Jose B. Lingad Regional Memorial Hospital of the Department of Health here.
