MANILA, Philippines—Three alleged dealers of stolen car parts and accessories were arrested in an anti-fencing operation in Quezon City, police said.

Robert de Vera, 35, of Kitanlad Street, in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City; Oswald Teologo, 30, of BMA Avenue, also in Tatalon; and Ricky Reyes (not the prominent hairdresser), 42, of Cebu Street, Sampaloc, Manila, were arrested in Tatalon with more than a hundred pieces of allegedly stolen side mirrors, wheel caps, tail lights, and other parts that can be easily stolen by petty thieves from parked vehicles, Police Chief Superintendent George Regis of the Quezon City Police District said.

Regis said that the three failed to present necessary documents to the patrol unit led by Superintendent Norberto Babagay of QCPD Station 11 to prove ownership of the car parts found.

“Ang mga legal dealers kasi may mga inventories ng mga items nila at mga papeles (You know, legal dealers have inventories of the items and their papers),” Regis said.

Babagay said the operation was conducted after receiving complaints of petty car robbery in the area.

Charges of violation of the Anti-fencing Law are now being prepared against them, Regis said.
