Philhealth warns public vs ‘fixers’ preying on members

/ 12:21 PM July 06, 2017

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) on Thursday warned the public against fixers collecting fees in exchange for a Philhealth identification card.

Stressing that the Philhealth ID is free for legitimate members, the agency also asked the public to transact only at Philhealth offices instead of dealing with such shady personalities.

“It has come to our attention that there are individuals posing as intermediaries who collect fees in exchange for facilitating the issuance of identification cards from PhilHealth,” it said in an advisory.

The advisory was issued by Philheath officer-in-charge president, Dr. Celestina Ma. Jude dela Serna, and was posted on the agency’s website.

Philhealth added: “The public is hereby informed that we do not charge any fees for the issuance of the PhilHealth ID cards to legitimate members.”

The public may report such incidents to the Philhealth corporate action center at (02) 4417442 or through [email protected].

Philhealth also urged its members to transact only at the nearest local health insurance office or PhilHealth Express in their area. JPV/rga
