AFP starts accepting donations for kin of fallen heroes

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is now accepting financial donations for the families and relatives of fallen soldiers in Marawi City and the civilians affected by the ongoing conflict.

AFP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said on Friday that these special accounts were opened at Land Bank to receive donations from people.

The AFP said those who are interested to donate financial assistance may do so through these accounts:

  1. Account name: AFP Marawi Casualty Account Nr 00000552107128.
  2. Account name: Marawi IDP (internally displaced persons) accnt nr: 00000552107136

The ongoing battle in Marawi, now on its fourth week, has killed nearly 300 people, with 59 of them from the military and police. Thousands have also been displaced from their homes since then. Frances Mangosing/JPV/rga
