A wild boar got into the Kyoto University Kumano dormitory grounds in the city’s Sakyo Ward, last Tuesday. It managed to cause an uproar as it ran around outside, injuring a 60-year-old bike rider on the leg before being captured by authorities.

According to the police, the wild boar was roughly one meter in length and appeared to be female. Before entering dormitory grounds, the animal was spotted running on the street at roughly 4:40 p.m. and reported the sighting to the police, reports ANNnews via Japan Times.

Within dormitory premises, the boar ran around for about an hour before hunters arrived at the scene and shot it with a tranquilizer gun.

The boar was then loaded on the back of a small truck and then transported out of the dormitory while sedated. Alfred Bayle/JB/rga
